Google and M@ilSafi Setup Tasks

  • DNS validation records to be added in cPanel

  • SPF- include:spf.mailsafi.com

  • DKIM- default._domainkey CNAME default._domainkey.mailsafi.com

User accounts tasks

First, you have to create your users on M@ilSafi admin portal. The mailboxes have to exist in M@ilSafi to begin the migration.

There are two migration options for Google platform:

  1. Users with 2FA enabled on Google platform

    1. Enable IMAP on Google account (Access to user Google account is required).

    2. Create Application specific password (Will be used for migrating email).

  2. Users without 2FA enabled on Google platform

    1. Enable IMAP on user Google account (access to user account is required).

    2. Create application-specific password on Google.

      Refer to https://support.google.com for more information.

    3. Enable less secure apps on Google.

Impact of migration on users

To migrate email, you need access to the user mailboxes on Google. The users can perform the above activities or can be assisted by an IT person.

If you can't access user mailboxes, you'll have to create application-specific passwords. This provides access to the user mailboxes by using a secondary password.
