Cloud backup
Also known as online backup.
Cloud backup is a service in which the data and applications on a business’s servers and/or systems are copied and stored on a remote server.
Cloud backup allows businesses to make complete copies of not only data but also entire applications, databases and operating systems. This ensures that data is more readily available in the event of a disaster as one just has to fail over to the cloud backup system and then fail back once the primary server has been restored. In this way, downtime is significantly reduced in comparison to where only data is copied. IT teams can restore information seamlessly while ensuring business continuity – effectively preventing a major IT crisis.
Please note that there is a difference between cloud back up and cloud storage. Read more on the differences between cloud backup and cloud storage.
